This is the blog of Barry Simmons, filmmaker and founder of Stone Castle Pictures, based in Nashville, TN. Barry spent five years reporting for Nashville’s CBS affiliate WTVF-TV before launching SCP to produce his first feature documentary, Sons of Lwala. During that time, he was awarded a three-month fellowship to the International Reporting Project (IRP) at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, followed by another fellowship at the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting. Today, Barry and his team at SCP produce web and television projects for agencies, non-profits and universities.
